We strive to create an upscale private and inviting environment where you feel at ease, and you feel comfortable throughout your procedure.

A medical tattoo is an advanced cosmetic tattoo requiring special training. This type of tattooing can be used to create realistic areolas and nipples after breast reconstruction surgery, or to camouflage an area of skin that has undergone undesirable changes such as scarring, burns, loss of pigmentation, or stretch marks. Receiving a medical tattoo can make a tremendous difference in a person's confidence and self esteem.

According to the Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act (WHCRA), tattooing of the nipple-areola as part of breast reconstruction is considered medically necessary, and *should* be covered when performed by a physician or licensed tattoo artist. If performed by a tattoo artist, you may need to request your physician to write a prescription for the procedure. You should always check with your insurance provider in advance to see if the procedure will be covered, as there are loopholes, and sometimes the procedure is not covered. At Ginger Ink Boutique, we DO NOT file a claim with your insurance company or work with insurance companies. However, we are happy to provide the proper paperwork, insurance codes, and letter of medical necessity in order for you to file a claim with your insurance company yourself.
